JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Customs Compliance Specialist will assume responsibility for the organization and continuous improvement of Krones, Inc. import/export trade compliance strategy, programs, and related projects to ensure compliance with the import/export controls, laws, and regulations in all countries where Krones does business.

  • Develop and drive import/export control compliance.
  • Handle import/export procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations including HTS, denied party screening, ECCN coding, NAFTA, valuation, country of origin, licensing, SAP data base, commercial invoices, recordkeeping, and special trade programs.
  • Maintain and update Krones Customs Compliance Export Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Facilitate with Engineering and Supply Chain in their responsibility to provide technical expertise regarding parts and component classifications. Determine technology controls and licensing.
  • Create and conduct employee training programs, including daily reference material.
  • Interact substantially with Krones Group, parent, and subsidiary companies to determine import/export requirements and partnering to develop ongoing compliant business/sales/operational strategies worldwide.
  • Communications, forms, documentation, and interaction with US Customs, government agencies, brokers and/or freight forwarders.
  • Create and provide reports as required for daily job functions or as upper management requires.
  • Regularly moderate resources and stay abreast of ongoing changes and updates to US Government regulation, as they apply to Krones exports.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: High school education or equivalent required.

Experience and/or Training: Minimum 3-5 years of experience including policy, procedure, work instructions, HTS, COO, NAFTA, denied party screening, ECCN, and licensing. Experience directing policy compliance, tracking regulatory changes, as well as training and effectively communicating across all levels of the organization, including senior executives and functional groups.
