This is a 2nd shift position, but the training will take place on 1st shift. There is a 10% shift premium that goes into effect upon switching to 2nd shift after completion of the 1st shift training.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Operate a manual turning center as well as horizontal and vertical saws
  • Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections
  • Utilize a forklift and overhead crane as needed
  • Assume responsibility for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned work by following the quality plan
  • Perform routine maintenance such as checking water and oil levels, gauges, etc. for proper operation
  • Recognize and report machine malfunctions to Team Leader
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma 
  • Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls
  • Willingness to be flexible and run more than one machine
  • Independent thinking and problem solving
  • Good communication and a positive attitude 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs when needed
  • Engine lathe experience is a plus
