Job Summary:
The Material Planner will have the opportunity to excel in the following responsibilities:
- Procurement of purchased materials on a daily basis
- Creation of production orders, considering factors such as equipment load, available capacity and material availability
- Review of production work center restraints to reschedule or outsource
- Expedite Purchase Orders or Production orders to meet customer demands
- Handle machine down requests and sales order improvement requests
- Responsible for dead stock and no mover KPI
- Responsible for proper stocking for Filler Valve Exchange programs
- Review of minimum lot sizes, A, B, C codes, safety stock, and lead time settings for purchased and manufactured parts
- Communicate effectively with LCS (internal customer), Production Planning and Purchasing (internal suppliers) to satisfy the requirements of external customers
- Perform KPI reporting
- Work alongside a team of other Material Planners to help achieve departmental goals of increasing on-time delivery, improving material availability, and reduce throughput time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience/Education Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of practical work experience in the related capacity
- Relevant experience in supply chain management, inventory management / scheduling
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of basic machining principles is a benefit
- The position requires the ability to communicate well and assertively, both verbal and written
- Interpersonal interaction is substantial and may require formal presentations, written proposals, etc.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented with superior record-keeping and organizational skills
- Experience with SAP preferred
- APICS certification preferred
This is a hybrid position based out of our North American Headquarters in Franklin, Wisconsin. The hybrid structure consists of 3 days remote and 2 days on-site per week, but the individual in this role will need to work and train 100% on-site for an estimated timeline of the first 6 months. The on-site training period is based on the individual and how long it takes them to learn our processes and work more independently. With this being said, there is a chance that the on-site training could last more or less than 6 months before moving to the hybrid work schedule, and it is at the manager's discretion.
