Job Purpose

The Quality Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic, tactical, and operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product and process quality.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned plant quality teams through implementation of strategic plans, mentorship, communication, and project management to execute desired goals. 

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators across all areas of the business to ensure all projects are delivered on time to the highest quality standards. 

  • Drive a “first time right” initiative on culture of quality throughout the organization. 

  • Serve as the NA regional sustainability coordinator and execute on global sustainability initiatives whilst ensuring health, safety and environmental priorities are embedded in relevant operations.  

  • Drive continuous improvement across all quality-related areas of the business in line with strategic goals. 

  • Supply of high quality, timely, and cost-effective quality assurance of spare parts, retrofit parts, and machines manufactured in Franklin, WI or by external suppliers. 

  • Development of region-specific QM investment planning; collaborate with counterparts in Krones AG HQ departments to foster a teamwork mentality; evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies, and approaches. 

  • Facilitate and collaborate with other departments to execute on root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions. 

  • Lead process audits and Continuous Improvement for multiple cross-functional departments including manufacturing, LCS overhauls, LCS spare parts, receiving, warehouse, and shipping. 

  • Improve and sustain a comprehensive manufacturing site quality management system for ISO and provide continuous improvement, leadership, guidance, and development support to all internal and external business processes

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of experience in manufacturing process improvement. 

Experience and/or Training:  

  • 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations and Quality Assurance such as milling, turning, fabrication, assembly, continuous improvement, process auditing, or external process quality management. 

  • 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing machinery for liquid food processing such as fillers, labelers, palletizers and conveying, blow molders or spare part solutions.  

  • 5 years of experience in SAP and the Microsoft Office suite. 

  • 5 years of experience of problem-solving methodologies, such as six sigma, DMAIC or lean practices.  

  • 5 years of experience in ISO certification compliance, maintenance, and process auditing; 

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles such as continuous improvement, overall equipment effectiveness, process auditing, PDCA, 8 deadly wastes mapping of value streams and process flow analysis.  

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.  

Experience and/or Training: understanding of ISO 9000 implementation; experience with lean manufacturing principles; proficiency using Microsoft office suite; excellent communication skills; detail-oriented
