Regional Service Technician - Inspection

Perform timely and accurate service in customer's plant, such as commissioning, troubleshooting and retrofitting of inspection/ camera systems mechanically; perform final assembly including programming and adjustments of mechanical components as needed on inspection/ camera systems; instruct both maintenance and operating personnel in the proper operating and maintenance procedures; make necessary "in the field" modifications to enable the equipment to perform to the customer's specifications; record all changes and modifications made to equipment, and provide detailed technical reports and drawings to implement design changes; be present for performance tests and record all downtime attributable to the machine; perform timely and accurate service in the customers' plants during installations, repairs, troubleshooting, overhauls, and changeovers; direct activities of other Service Technicians as required; and, interface with contractors and customers/management as necessary to control project timetable. This position is based in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Required: Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and 4 years of experience as a Service Technician/Engineer. In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, employer will accept a high school diploma and 6 years of experience as a Service Technician/Engineer. In addition, the following specific skills are required:
- 4 years of experience (6 yrs w/ high school diploma) working on inspection machines or camera systems for inspection;
- 4 years of experience (6 yrs w/ high school diploma) with tools such as wrenches, drills, taps, grinders, measuring devices, and presses;
- 4 years of experience (6 yrs w/ high school diploma) reading blueprints, along with basic mechanical skills, drilling, tapping, cutting, and filing;
- 4 years of experience (6 yrs w/ high school diploma) with Microsoft Windows XP and7;
- 4 years of experience (6 yrs w/ high school diploma) in machine hardware (servomotors, gear boxes, and sensors);
- 3 years of experience (5 yrs w/ high school diploma) reading electrical schematics; and,
- Requires extensive travel (nearly constant - up to 100%), both domestic and foreign to unanticipated client sites.
