Job Description:
The Supervisor for the Sub-Assembly department will be supporting and directing employees to attain established production goals. This role will be utilizing a combination of technical knowledge, leadership and team management skills sets to guide their team to effective results within areas of production, safety, quality, cost and delivery.
- Understand the basic principles of Krones, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors by communicating and enforcing safety and environmental policies. Act as a role model and make sure all employees are putting safety as their number one objective.
- Supervise personnel through established work process(es) to achieve good quality, productivity and on-time delivery from the Sub-Assembly Department by leading employees in problem-solving techniques and good proven assembly practices.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement for process changes and foster a collaborative work environment between all shifts of the department.
- Develop and motivate employees by monitoring performance and documenting (Qualification Matrix, etc) progress. Use professional development tools (Self-Study, E-Learn, etc) to improve, motivate, correct and enhance training.
- Supervise, train and maintain good build practices, establish priorities, and set achievable goals to get desired results. Recommend improvements for procedures to enhance efficiency and quality. Maintain high standards on all mechanical and electrical operations.
- Communicate relevant Company and Department information in an accurate/timely manner and also reiterate it during the weekly stand-up meeting. Encourage feedback and suggestions from all employees.
- Take appropriate action as needed to enforce Krones Policies using discipline, training, motivation techniques and/or termination in accordance with Company practices.
- Perform any other duties as assigned or needed to keep the department running at peak performance.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate degree in a technical or related field, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent work experience.
Experience and/or Training:
- Technical aptitude and knowledge of assembly processes and equipment and knowledge of Krones packaging equipment.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of metric system and a shown ability of good assembly practices.
Skills:
- We are looking for candidates that are respectable, strong leaders.
- Analytical and strategic thinkers, experience driving process improvement (e.g. helping to fix missing parts issue).
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Preferred experience working with a variety of parts and variations of subassembly builds.
